Your name is probably in more places than you've accounted for. Property records, corporate filings, news coverage, data broker profiles, social media archives: most of it deliberately public, some of it forgotten about. All of it is accessible to anyone who decides to look, and if your professional and personal life is well-documented, the starting picture an attacker gets for free is more detailed than most people appreciate.
The threats that follow from that exposure are specific: investment fraud, wire transfer interception, impersonation of financial contacts, account takeover across banking and brokerage platforms. Connected home systems are a less obvious exposure — they reveal domestic routines and often have no meaningful security protecting them. Household staff, who hold legitimate access to your premises, schedules, and devices, are rarely factored into any security consideration.
